Hi - I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist providing services to the states of Minnesota and Wisconsin. I opened AnchorPoint Therapy Services with the intention of providing therapy services to first responders, their families, and the community who have experienced trauma.

For me, this work is important both personally and professionally. I grew up in a first responder home for the first 21 years of my life, my dad was a volunteer firefighter. My family valued the life of being in public service and providing service to others. I’ve also witnessed and experienced grief firsthand which has been an anchor in the work I provide others. As a professional, I have worked with various populations in different settings including residential, outpatient, and client homes; serving those in the Twin Cities metro area. I believe personal lived experiences and relationships with others will teach us more than any book ever will.

Throughout my experiences, I knew I would find my way back to supporting those in the first responder community because they continue to give to their communities their time, resources, and friendship. I have made it my mission to learn the first responder culture and maintain my cultural competency and relationships through education opportunities, ride-alongs with city and county officers, speaking with correctional officers, touring detention facilities, sitting with dispatch, touring fire stations, and meeting with their leadership.

My clinical experiences have taught me that I enjoy working with adults through individual and couples therapy. I have developed expertise in addressing the struggles that come with relational issues, grief and loss, and addiction. I have a passion for helping people cut through the bullsh*t that is weighing them down and finding healthier ways to manage the chaos of their lives.

When I’m not in the office you will find me outside exploring state parks, in a boat, training Banner, or buying more plants. I enjoy food and travel, often combining the two - visiting old favorites and trying new places. I love a good joke and use humor often!

Your journey to wellness starts now!

Hi - I’m Banner!

I am a certified Good-Boy! I came from a rescue in Bismarck, North Dakota this winter and have been adjusting to being in a home. I am going to be starting school to be a therapy dog, specifically a first responder therapy dog. I will be learning ways to be a support to your healing, until then you can watch me learn new tricks on our Instagram page or maybe you’ll hear me on your telehealth sessions.

When I’m not in the office - I like going for long walks, the sunshine, zooming at the dog park, and eating carrots.
